JUDGEMENT DAY

I walked up to the open gates of God, I followed through
Knelt before the alter ”Jesus tell me what to do”

The queen am I dethroned by hell, the devil at my back
‘Tween silky sheets so many, black, white, I just lost track

So many nights in sleeplessness, the rattle of my wrong
Expecting chains and sorry gains, to the dungeons I belong

Time it seems has buried deep, my heart, it’s oh so small
One more chance, an unlocked dance, to which I doth crawl

I’ll be here ‘till judgement day ‘Till death hath done it’s worst
For the man I love has taken up Another to his breast

I’m broken down and savaged by the wrath of hopelessness
All because I gave my body, soul to the one you surely blessed

Jesus save me now before I go another day
And get eaten by the curse of jealousy, to you I pray

Yea! I’ve walked that grassy verge of God, this once I did look down
And saw the wicked face of him, no eyes, just a frown.

Lord take me to the right road paved with cobblestones of good
This torture I despise so much to leave you as I did

I’ll be here ‘till judgement day...

As I left that empty church I bowed my head in shame
And looked in Jesus’ eyes and prayed for the Lord to come in again

Fill my soul with sweet perfume and raise my song once more
This ode in its simplicity to you I do implore

I’ll be here ‘till judgement day
